TRU-Vu Monitors-Direct Sun Readable

TRU-Vu monitors  – when the monitor MUST be viewed in the sun.

So what happens when an application calls for a monitor to be used in full sunlight?  Traditional video display monitors do not allow the viewer to see what is on the monitor because of many things: the competing glare of the sun, reflections off the outer glass, or a minimum of screen brightness. Inconvenient, yes, but far more than that, as they make accomplishing the task, all but impossible.

TRU-Vu SRM-10.4 Sunlight Readable monitors have solved that problem, and are specifically the monitor for applications requiring monitor viewing in bright sunlight.

This series of Sunlight Readable Monitors (SRM) monitors (also known as Hi-Brite or High Brightness monitors), has been specifically created for use in precisely these circumstances. The results are sharp, clear, well- defined video images, seen even with bright sunlight directly on the screen. They alleviate the problem of not being able to distinguish what is on the video screen by utilizing their shielding Anti-Reflective outer glass and Optical Bonding. With this, these monitors eliminate internal reflections, remove the need for sun-shields, squinting or straining on the screen, all then just to see washed-out images on the monitor.

So how can these monitors actually be sunlight readable? The word ‘nit’ is a unit of  measuring visible-light intensity, and is used to specify the brightness of a cathode ray tube or liquid crystal display computer display. A typical laptop monitor has between 150-200 nits. Most LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panels have an output of between 200 and 300 nits. TRU-Vu sunlight readable monitors characteristically have additional LED (Light Emitting Diode) backlights, strengthening their screen brightness to 1,000 to 2,200 nits of brightness. No comparison!

The SRM-10.4 monitor has a large viewable area of 8.3” (W) x 6.2” (H) (211.2 x 158.4 mm) on its ample 10.4” LED  backlight LCD screen.  With an impressive resolution of 800 x 600 Super Video Graphics Array (SVGA), a 700:1 contrast ratio, and a notable viewing angle of 160 degrees horizontally and 140 degrees vertically, they also have a quick response time of 30 milliseconds. Add in a lockable OSD (On-Screen Display) control, by means of rear panel pushbuttons, and the fact that these industrial-grade monitors have standard to Full High Definition (FHD) resolution, a variety of video inputs and VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) mounting-hole patterns for complete integration, and are available in 7.0″ to 55″ screen sizes.

TRU-Vu monitors are all-encompassing, providing the ideal monitor for full-sunlight application.  Their customizable, industrial grade component LCD monitors that offer long-term performance, and 24/7/365 operation – thanks to their high-quality LCD panels and rugged ABS or powder coated steel housing, safe-guarding them against shock and vibration. Regular retail/consumer grade monitors are designed for desktop use for 6 to 8 hours per day, and are unable to operate for longer periods – or in direct sunlight. TRU-Vu monitors are borne of the TRU-Tuff process: RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanization) silicone is on all connections and critical components, all wires are dressed, tie-wrapped and secured, and all screws are thread locked. Again, no comparison!

Variety is what sets the TRU-Vu  monitors apart from the norm. Open-Frame Monitors range from 8.4 inch to 46 inches in size, and can be easily incorporated into panels, machines or kiosks.
